An award winning self taught artist and internationally acclaimed filmmaker from Albuquerque NM Masha Sokolova is pursuing a degree in Film and Business from Columbia University Her passion for visual storytelling began at a young age with a love for animated media as she began illustrating fantasy worlds Her background in fine arts continues to influence her work today as she takes a multifaceted approach to media seeking to integrate diverse techniques and perspectives Focusing her aptitude for business on creative development and production she is always on the lookout to start her next project

Feature length screenplay adapted into a modern, micro-budget surrealist thriller:


Logline:

After her father’s job loss, horror game streamer, Felia (19), struggles with her new financial responsibility as the sole provider, but her pursuit of stability takes a dark turn when she gets involved with the Patchwork Girl, a local urban legend rumored to be the cause of the missing person cases of her small-town.


Wrote a full-length musical comedy satirizing corporation, highlighting the modern-day experiences of students through pastiche. Columbia students worked to direct and produce the project to put it on stage in December 2022.
